Four Does in a Row

Four Does in a Row

Each October evening the Elk near Oxbow Bend in the Grand Tetons migrate to the fields to graze. In the cold mornings, as the light first appears, well before sunrise, they move towards the forests for protection. We saw a Bull Elk with a harem of almost 30 does and babies that morning and waited for them to cross the river to get to the forests. The fog came in and out that morning and you can see the alert mothers with their offspring between them as they cross the Snake river.
