Shiprock Sunrise

Shiprock Sunrise

Outside Farmington and the town of Shiprock is an ancient throat of a volcano formed about 27 million years ago. The monolith rises ~1600 feet above the desert floor. The formation is on Navajo land and in the native tongue is referred to as the rock with wings. We hiked up one of the wings of igneous rock and captured this sunrise image. This is a stitch of 4 images using a telephoto lens to add a bit of lens compression making the main formation appear larger. Print Ratio 1.68:1. You can get standard print sizes and select a size to order using the print ratio and entering into the following google sheets link: Print Sizing Spreadsheet

Custom sizes available upon request. See sizing and pricing page for additional details. Send a message for specific pricing.
