Each October evening the Elk near Oxbow Bend in the Grand Tetons migrate to the fields to graze. In the cold mornings, as the light first appears, well before sunrise, they move towards the forests for protection. This Bull Elk had a harem of almost 30 does and babies that morning that had already crossed the river. As he approached the forest, the Bull bugled to the rest in the forest. This high pitched sound echos across the landscape during the rut.
