I arrived about 4:30 in the morning and enjoyed a bit of asto photography at the arch. I had the location to myself for over an hour which I thought was unusual. The crowds showed up about 6:30 but I was able to secure a great location in the lineup. This arch is somewhat unique as it faces east for sunrise and is on the edge where the cliffs drop about 1000 feet below. The reflection from the canyon walls create a deep red glow on the underside of the arch. The arch is less than a 1/4 mile from the parking lot, easy to get to and the trail is well marked. It is a few miles after the visitor's center in Canyon Lands national park.
